I can honestly say I not only fell completely off the healthy lifestyle wagon, but gleefully jumped off, head first, and smashed into a raging torrent of calorie filled excess.

The Turkey Sausage Veggie Bake is one of Mysfam Cottage’s favorite recipes, but it can easily be changed to be a vegan/vegetarian recipe with a few changes. Considering that I overindulged in a few too many Christmas cookies I thought a lighter recipe was a great way to start the New Year. This recipe works great as a veggie side or a full meal for meat free Monday. The serving size is great for a light lunch, but I usually half a serving as a side veggie.
The year is winding down I’ve been thinking about the past eight months. So far, I’ve lost almost 100 lbs because I didn’t want to have to pay extra for my flight when my BFF and I took our Hawaii trip. The trip may have been postponed, but it was the catalyst to behind my determination to lose weight. I wanted to share some of the things I’ve learned so far that have helped me.
There is a level in hell called exercise, and nothing you say can convince me otherwise. As part of my new healthy lifestyle adding exercise has been the hardest. Still, I’ve been walking more as part of my “five minutes of exercise a day” routine, which of course, lasts longer than five minutes, but I also planned on incorporating yoga into the mix. But because I’m still slacking I figured I’d just make it up over the weekend.
